The Town Council has provided and maintains parks, amenity areas and playgrounds within the town. One of the core objectives of the Council’s development policy, as set out in the Development Plan, is to ensure the provision, maintenance and development of high quality recreational amenities within the town and as part of the expansion of the town. These facilities and amenities provided by the Council are to the highest standards, which are again maintained by the Council’s outdoor staff and are a fitting testament to their dedication and commitment.

As the town expands the Town Council will be endeavouring to ensure that such natural amenities as the two rivers, the Ownacurra and the Dungourney, the Estuary and Ballygannon Wood are all protected and enhanced to become primary elements of the recreational and amenity fabric and environment of Midleton.
