Most of these functions are now managed by Cork County Council, The Health Services Executive, the Vocational Education Committee and the Department of Social and Family Affairs.

Midleton Town Council still supports a school meals scheme which provides meals for children in the junior schools in Midleton and elects a nominee for the Vocational Education Committee annually.
